Grant Pederson was elected this past fall president of the Deming Logging Show for 2011.  He also served as president in 2006 & 2007 and this marks his sixth year as an officer of the show.

Grant was born in Bellingham, WA and has been around the Log Show since his early childhood.  He has one brother, Matt, who is currently serving as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps.  Both parents, Brian and Carla, have held various positions at the Log Show throughout the years and have donated countless hours of volunteer work with others to keep this organization going.  He also has aunts, uncles, and cousins that continue to be involved year after year.

Upon graduating from Bellingham High School Grant attended Washington State University where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.   For summer employment  in 2000 Grant drove log truck for Pederson Bros.  In 2001 he went to work for VECO in Bellingham where he worked as a mechanical engineer.  In 2006 he had the opportunity to go to work for Tesoro Refinery in Anacortes as a reliability engineer.  Switching hard hats in 2010 Grant went to work for BP Cherry Point refinery as a reliability engineer in the maintenance department.

Grant enjoys the hard work that goes into making the Log Show go.  There is a great amount of talent among all the people involved in the Log Show that encourages us all to tackle many different projects.  We are able to accomplish a ton of work in a short period of time year after year.

His hobbies include hunting, hiking, camping, snow skiing and working in the shop.

Grant would like to thank everyone that help keeps this show alive, volunteers and spectators alike.
